Because of the Big Sur Half Marathon on Sunday, November 18, there will be a number of parking restrictions, 2am-11am, and road closures, 4am-11am. We've tried to distill the information for the Lighthouse District below. For a detailed guide of all closures in Monterey that morning, please e-mail [email protected] and we'll send you a copy of the original document.
The entire Half Marathon course will be posted, "No Parking - Tow Away 2am-11am on Sunday, November 18, 2012." Other parking restrictions will also be in effect in the Downtown and Cannery Row areas. All "No Parking" areas will be posted a minimum of 48 hours in advance. All vehicles left standing in a "No Parking" zone will be towed at the owner's expense.
Lighthouse Avenue and the Pacific Street connector southbound (from New Monterey to Downtown Monterey) will remain open all day. BUT the westbound lanes of Del Monte from Figueroa to the Custom House Tunnel (from Downtown Monterey toward Pacific Grove) will be closed 6am-8:45am.
