This Saturday's Movie in the Park: Hocus Pocus is the perfect chance to enjoy a picnic in Scholze Park with friends and family, and International Cafe, located steps away from the park, is offering $20 Meal Snack Packs.

Simply stop by and select your favorite items from their Mediterranean-style deli station. The staff will assemble a delicious Meal Snack Pack for you to share with family and friends. Whether you're vegan or omnivore, gluten free or dairy free, they have options for everyone.

International Cafe is hosting a community gathering on Sunday, August 31, 2:30pm-5:30pm. Come on down for food samples and music and make some new friends. Everyone is welcome!

Labor Day weekend is a great time to come together in support of all our neighbors in peace, understanding, and joy. We're stronger when we're together, and we have fun, too!

The City of Monterey is hosting a free city services fair, City Hall in Your Corner, on Thursday, August 21, 5pm-7:30pm at Hilltop Park Center.

Come out and enjoy some hot dogs, games and activities for kids, and meet your City staff. This is a great opportunity to get to know the wide variety of programs and services offered for residents of all ages.

Oscar's Playground hosts a free Drag Queen Storytime with Saint Sallos. Doors open at 6pm, storytime begins at 7pm. Enjoy fun and creative expression in a welcoming, inclusive environment for all ages.

Learn about Play Full Ground's new micro high school (opening Fall 2025) and share your hopes for your child's high school education with school founder Mai Ryuno. Register for a session on March 15 or March 29 , 3pm-4:30pm.

Students and parents are invited to share their experiences and challenges to help Mai create detailed educational plans to meet local needs. More info here.

Come in for On The Beach's annual Costume Contest during the Children's Trick-or-Treat on Lighthouse , 2pm-5pm. We'll take a photo of everyone coming in to the shop in costume and post it on the On The Beach Facebook page . Vote for your favorite costumes and the top three winners will get prizes.

Current Comics is hosting a Halloween ComicFest on Saturday, October 26, 11am-7pm, featuring a big bowl of candy and free comics to give to kids and parents.

We'll also have a sidewalk sale, 11am-5pm, with Pokemon cards, LEGO mini figures, bargain plush toys, framed Disney lithographs, and 50% off select comics.

The Lighthouse District is hosting a free outdoor screening of the classic, all-ages adventure comedy Jumanji (1995), starring Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt.

The film will be shown at 7:30pm in front of the Scholze Park Community Center. You're welcome to come early and bring a picnic! Remember to dress warmly and bring blankets and/or chairs. No pets or alcohol.

On Saturday, November 25, International Market and Deli will host children's art activities and snack-making, offer food samples for all ages, and hold a cooking demonstration for adults at 2pm. We'll also serve complimentary tea to all our guests. More details here.
