Paper Wing Theatre Company presents Smudge by 2-time Emmy Award winner Rachel Axler. Performances are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, February 24 - March 10, on Paper Wing's Main Stage.
Smudge is a very dark comedy which aims to be part horror movie, part domestic relationship drama. A young couple's baby girl is born severely disabled, with no limbs and one big eye. Nick, the father, bonds with the unseen child in the pram encircled with tubes and names her Cassandra. Colby, the mother, attempts to protect herself from agony through brutal humor. It's a sometimes droll, sometimes tragic meditation on perception, responsibility, and the capacity to love.
