Travel Show & Potluck: Cambodia's Moveable Peace

The Monterey Hostel, located in Monterey's Lighthouse District, is pleased to host a free potluck and travel program entitled Cambodia's Moveable Peace by Dr. Kathryn Poethig, an associate professor of Global Studies at CSUMB who has lived and worked in Southeast Asia for over 30 years

From 1993 to 2000, the Dhammayietra, Cambodia's Buddhist peace walk, crossed into conflict zones to extinguish "the flame of war" in the region. In her talk, Dr. Poethig will discuss the factors that contributed to its powerful impact on the Cambodian imagination.

The optional potluck will begin at 6pm, the discussion will begin at 6:45pm. (Help setting up at 5:30pm is appreciated.) Everyone is welcome!
