Community Emergency Response Volunteers of the Monterey Peninsula and the Monterey Fire Department present a free workshop entitled Emergency Awareness & Planning for People with Disabilities & Functional Challenges. The instructors will be Mike Castenada, Harvey Pressman, and Sarah Blackstone.
People with disabilities and/or functional challenges, their family members and supporters, and CERT team members and first responders are encouraged to attend. In this 3-hour workshop we'll cover the importance of preparation, planning, and practicing; how to stay informed before, during, and after a disaster; how to shelter in-place and what to expect if you evacuate to shelter; and how to prepare yourself, your home, and your worksite.
