Scholze Park Community Center in the Lighthouse District is pleased to present the play! Monterey Travel Program, including a variety of travel experiences for a variety of budgets. Today, we'll enjoy the J.M.W. Turner exhibit, Painting Set Free, at the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
One of the greatest English painters of the nineteenth century, J.M.W. Turner was celebrated for his brilliant depictions of light, the virtuosity of his technique, and his extraordinary imagination. Don’t miss this opportunity to see this one-of-a-kind exhibit, the first major survey of Turner’s late career when the artist displayed a fierce engagement with grand themes of nature, history, and religion.
Cost is $67. Registration deadline is August 10. Tours depart from Scholze Park Community Center (Marina pick-ups are also available). All tours are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
