Fin + Forage Catch & Cook Competition 2022

Bamboo Reef Dive Shop is participating in the Fin + Forage Catch & Cook Competition on Saturday, April 30 at Del Monte Beach in Monterey. It's an in-person, family-friendly event with an emphasis on ocean conservation, where spearfishers are judged on their ability to hunt, forage, and cook wild food. Register and learn more here.

Participating spearos and spearas will forage and spearfish for ingredients in the nearby coastal waters of Monterey Bay and then cook a meal outside on the beach. The food will be plated and presented to a panel of judges and the dishes will be awarded points on presentation, technique, and taste.

This family friendly event is organized by ocean lovers to raise funds for public lands and ocean access while encouraging sustainable spearfishing and cooking practices. Family, friends, and the community are invited to participate in a fun beach clean up before the competition in connection with this event.
