Celebrating Linda Lay's CATZINE and Play Full Ground's 2nd Anniversary
This event has already passed
Play Full Ground invites everyone to join us for an evening all about cats...and celebrating PFG's second anniversary! On Saturday, November 30, 6pm-9pm, enjoy art, music, drinks, and food as you view Linda Lay's cat-themed artwork and zines. This is a free event, but we will be accepting donations to support Golden Oldies Cat Rescue.
Linda Lay's CATZINE showcases...cats! People submit images of their cats, and the artist makes up stories about them for fun. At the event tonight there will be a projection of the images from the zines as well as art, cat tarot readings by Bustle lifestyle writer Nina Kahn, cat-themed snacks (for humans), and more.
Play Full Ground founder and event host Mai Ryuno is a visual, installation, and performance artist whose artworks are concept driven, process oriented, and playful. She uses printmaking, drawing, and painting as well as food, saltwater, rain, textile, etc. Her abstract, subtle, sometimes bold, and colorful imageries are often results of her interest in spontaneous ideas and acts of making.
Golden Oldies Cat Rescue is a resource and advocate for cats ages 6 and older residing in Monterey County whose guardians can no longer care for them or who are at risk in local shelters. When cats are surrendered to them, they live in volunteer foster homes until they find permanent loving adoptive homes for them.
