This event has already passed

The Monterey Hostel, located in Monterey's Lighthouse District, is pleased to host a free potluck and travel program entitled Souvenirs of a Professional Vagabond by Susan Spano, an author and columnist who has been writing about travel for the New York Times (the "Frugal Traveler") and the Los Angeles Times ("Her World" and "Postcards from Paris") since 1993.

Susan Spano will give a reading of her new book, a collection of some of her best travel articles, entitled French Ghosts, Russian Nights & American Outlaws: Souvenirs of a Professional Vagabond. A book signing will follow. Library Journal has described French Ghosts as "an inspiring, vibrant look at the myriad ways travel can impact and enrich our lives."

The optional potluck will begin at 6pm, the discussion will begin at 6:45pm. (Help setting up at 5:30pm is appreciated.) Everyone is welcome! If you're attending the potluck, please bring your favorite side-dish to share or make a monetary donation. For more information, please phone 831-899-3046 or 831-372-5762.
