The Paper Wing Theatre Company presents Jesus Hates Me, an off-kilter comedy written by Wayne Lemon and directed by Kirsten Clapp. Performances are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, April 25 - May 17 at our Lighthouse District theatre.
Ethan is an ex-high school football star who blew out his knee and, with it, what he thought was his one chance for a life beyond his rural Texas town. His devoutly religious mom, Annie, runs the "Blood of the Lamb" miniature golf course, using mannequins from Wal-Mart dressed up to look like Bible figures. Annie's mood swings keep Ethan feeling guilty - a fact she uses to keep him from leaving her. In episodic fashion, the play follows Ethan and his friends over several days as he's offered a job at a ski resort and prepares to move to Colorado.
