Travel Show & Potluck: Ecuador & Amazon Watch

The Monterey Hostel, located in Monterey's Lighthouse District, is pleased to host a free potluck BBQ and travel program entitled Ecuador & Amazon Watch, featuring guest speaker Ashlee Jennings.
Jennings, a student of sustainable development, is a summer intern at Amazon Watch, an organization working to protect the rainforest and advance the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. This evening, she'll talk about her life-changing trip to the Amazon in Ecuador where she learned about big oil, deforestation, conservation, and local culture. She'll also talk about the work Amazon Watch is doing to protect the Ecuadorean Amazon Basin and the rainforest and how it assists indigenous communities.
The optional BBQ potluck will begin at 6pm, the discussion will begin at 6:45pm. (Help setting up at 5:30pm is appreciated.) Everyone is welcome!
