Travel Show & Potluck: Keep Fort Ord Wild
This event has already passed
The Monterey Hostel, located in Monterey's Lighthouse District, is pleased to host a free potluck and travel program entitled Keep Fort Ord Wild, presented by avid hiker and bicyclist Bill Weigle, a member of the Keep Fort Ord Wild group.
Weigle's illustrated talk will cover the relationship between the new Fort Ord National Monument and the adjacent undeveloped lands threatened by proposed developments, as well as describe how the undeveloped land is currently being used by thousands of walkers, runners, bicyclists, equestrians, photographers, and bird-watchers from around our region. Weigle is passionate about saving wilderness land from development and preserving our undeveloped lands for recreation for people of all ages.
The optional potluck will begin at 6pm, the discussion will begin at 6:45pm. (Help setting up at 5:30pm is appreciated.) Everyone is welcome! If you're attending the potluck, please bring your favorite side-dish to share or make a monetary donation. For more information, please phone 831-899-3046 or 831-372-5762.
