Thriving Seas: The Relationship of Art & Fisheries by Simone Jones

This event has already passed

Green Chalk Contemporary in Monterey's Lighthouse District is proud to present Thriving Seas!, a talk by Simone Jones of Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch.

From 25,000 year old cave paintings of fish to 16th century paintings illustrating the bounty of the sea, art reflects our relationship with oceans. Today, our art reflects a growing concern with vanishing fish species and ever fewer fish. Join us to discuss the relationship of art and fisheries with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Simone Jones.

Simone Jones studied art, is a certified art teacher, and worked in museum education for several years. Her love for the ocean led her to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, where she has worked for the last seven years.
