Play Full Ground held its final showing of its Coding x Color interactive art piece on Friday, November 15, 2019. Coding x Color was an interactive art exhibit that was a collaboration between several artists and Monterey Makers. It was a re-imagination of life in Monterey Bay with images of marine life created through a combination of a painting on a wall (a traditional mural), digital particle animation, and sound design.
The exhibit used sensors to allow you to interact with the piece by moving around. There were numerous modes for how the digital fish would react based on your movements. There was even a psychedelic disco mode where the fish would spawn up to a count of 8000 and the sea would change colors depending on what you did.
